WAEPA’s $100,000 No-Exam Offer for Younger Federal Workers Has an Oct. 2 Deadline

Eligible former civilian federal employees can apply alongside current workers. The New York Life-underwritten offer is restricted to new WAEPA members under 40.

WAEPA’s $100,000 guaranteed-issue group term life offer has a Friday, October 2, 2026, application deadline that the association still displays. Eligible current or former civilian federal employees under 40 can apply without medical underwriting, an exam or a blood test. New York Life Insurance Company underwrites the coverage.

The inclusion of former workers distinguishes this limited-time offer from WAEPA’s standing guaranteed-issue route, which is for eligible new federal hires applying within their first year. The October 2 offer requires applicants to request exactly $100,000.

Who qualifies

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, under 40 and new WAEPA members. Existing members, spouses and dependents cannot use the offer. WAEPA also excludes people whose earlier WAEPA application was declined or withdrawn and those who previously accepted a WAEPA guaranteed-issue offer. Its offer page identifies excluded U.S. territories and provides separate application instructions for Louisiana.

Rates and the route after October 2

WAEPA lists monthly rates, as of August 1, 2026, of $3.50 for applicants under 35 and $3.90 for ages 35 through 39. Rates rise when an insured person enters a new five-year age band. The maximum benefit begins decreasing at age 60, although premiums may not fall with it.

WAEPA does not specify an hour when applications close on October 2. Its ordinary group term coverage remains a different route, with a published maximum of $2 million. That maximum is not part of the $100,000 guaranteed-issue offer: an ordinary application may require medical records, an exam or further review and may be declined.
