SummitLife 2026 E-Apps Set for Sept. 26; Some Pending Buyers Can Switch
A distributor says the policy, listed with a $1 million minimum coverage amount, will gain two index-crediting choices. Eligible pending applicants have until before October 26 to request the new version.
National Life Group’s transition rules schedule SummitLife 2026 for electronic applications on Saturday, September 26, 2026, in approved states. For shoppers considering the indexed universal life policy, the application date determines which version they can seek. Some applicants with pending cases can also request a switch.
Financial Markets Inc.’s product listing puts SummitLife’s minimum face amount at $1 million. That is the coverage amount, not the premium or a projected cash value. In a September 24 announcement, the distributor says the new version will add two multi-asset index-crediting options, giving eligible buyers more strategies to consider.
Which pending cases can switch?
Under the carrier’s rules, applications signed and submitted before September 26 use current SummitLife; those signed September 26 or later use SummitLife 2026. Applicants with cases submitted in June 2026 or later that remain pending can request a switch before October 26, 2026. They need a new illustration and, if choosing a new index, an allocation form. The carrier says a new application is not required.
The distributor calls September 28 the product’s launch date. The carrier’s earlier September 26 date specifically covers availability in electronic applications, subject to state approval. The transition document identifies Life Insurance Company of the Southwest as the issuer.
What the added choices mean for value
More crediting choices do not establish a higher return. National Life Group’s explanation of indexed life insurance says interest crediting depends on terms such as participation rates and applicable caps. Its 0% index-crediting floor does not prevent ongoing monthly policy deductions, so it does not guarantee that net cash value will rise.
For an eligible applicant with a pending case, the immediate choice is whether to obtain the required new illustration and request the version change within the carrier’s window. The illustrated values can inform that comparison; they are not guaranteed results.
